Detoxification is the biological process of removing the toxic substances from a living organism, either plants, animals or in the human body. Generally the process means to clean out the blood by removing toxic substances from the body. The toxic substances get into the body through our diet and get into the liver. So, the liver is responsible for the detoxification process. While taking food, we should take care to consume the food that helps in the detoxification process and clean our body. Lets have a look at the good food for detoxification and that are a great addition to everybody’s diet.

Food to Detoxify the Body

1Green Foods

In detoxification process, the body needs chlorophyll. The chlorophyll is present in green leafy vegetables like spinach, spirulina, barley, alfalfa, chard, argula, wheatgrass, blue green algae and other green leafy vegetables. This may boost up the digestive system to detoxify the body and throw out the toxins out of the body.

2Garlic

Garlic is beneficial for almost every disease in the body. This white bulb shaped herb is very much effective in detoxification process. It helps the liver in the cleansing process and helps to produce detoxification enzymes, that filters the toxic substance and throw out of the digestive system. So, adding garlic in a dish may be helpful in reducing the diseases in the body.

3Lemons, Oranges, and Limes

Citrus in lemon, oranges and limes helps to throw out the toxins from the body and support liver cleansing. In the early morning, a glass of lemon juice is enough for the whole day in the detoxification process. It purifies the blood from toxin substances and gives you a healthy body. Vitamin C in the orange is also best for detoxification, because it transforms the toxic material into digestible substances.

4Broccoli Sprouts

Broccoli is rich in antioxidants, that helps to stimulate the detoxification enzymes and filter the toxins. Sprouts gives more effective results as compared to the full vegetables.

5Green Tea

Green tea is full of antioxidants known as catechins, that helps to filter the toxins and convert into digestive substances. Because of that liquid is also needed for detoxification, green tea helps to detoxify the body. It increases the immunity of the body and prevent from cold and flu.

6Fruits

The high content of water in fruits helps to detoxify the body. Fruits are rich in fiber, nutrients, antioxidants, and vitamins. All these nutrients help to throw out toxins from the body and keeps you healthy.

7Raw Vegetables

Raw vegetables like carrot, tomato, sprouts, cabbage, broccoli, onions, etc., which we take as salad helps in liver cleansing. A sulfur compound in all these raw vegetables, helps to detoxify the toxins in the body.

8Mung Beans

Mug bean is an Ayurvedic herb that is being used from ancient time for the digestive system. It helps to digest and take out toxic residue out of the body.

9Omega-3 Oils

Omega-3 oils like olive oil, avocado oil and flax oil helps in liver cleansing which detoxify the enzymes and take out toxins from intestine walls. It absorbs the toxins and throw out of the body.
